Tour Overview

About the Destination

Broad Peak is one of the world's highest mountains, standing at 8,051 meters (26,414 feet). It is located in the Karakoram Range of Pakistan, near the famous K2. The mountain gets its name from its wide, flat summit, which stretches over 1.5 kilometers.

Climbing Broad Peak is a major challenge, but it is considered less difficult than K2. The first successful climb was in 1957 by an Austrian team. The best time to attempt the climb is during June and July, when the weather is most stable.

Broad Peak is popular among mountaineers aiming to conquer the world’s 14 highest peaks. Its base camp sits on the Godwin-Austen Glacier, the same as K2’s. The climb involves extreme altitude, freezing temperatures, and dangerous icefalls. Despite the risks, the mountain offers breathtaking views of the Karakoram range.
